There are now four distinct packages included in this zip file:

	1. Philmont Trails map suitable for directly downloading

		onto a Garmin device without further processing (recommended).

		This map file is named philmont_directdownload.img

	2. Installation package to make the Philmont Trails map available
		in Garmin's BaseCamp product, called philmont_basecamp_install.exe

3. philmont,gpx for those who want the raw GPX files

4. philmont.kml for use with Google Earth

Here are more specific instructions for each:

==================================

1. Philmont Trails map suitable for directly downloading

	onto a Garmin device without further processing (recommended)

This map does not need to be run through MapsetToolkit
nor BaseCamp
	to be used. You can directly load this map
onto your device by attaching
	the device to your
PC via USB cable (on my Oregon you need to make sure
	that
Setup->System->Interface->"Garmin Spanner" is set on the
device - YMMV),
	then using the normal Windows Explorer to
move the philmont_directdownload.img
	file anywhere under the Garmin
directory on the device.

==================================

2. Installation package to make the Philmont Trails map available

	in Garmin's BaseCamp product.

From the zipfile, run the
	philmont_basecamp_install.exe program.
This will start a conventional
	"installer" style program that
extracts files and sets them up for
	BaseCamp. You can install them
to any directory of your choice.

After
	the installer completes, start BaseCamp. A new mapset
called "Philmont"
	should appear in the dropdown menu in the
upper right corner.

The map can
	be installed to a device by right clicking in
the device in the
	right hand column of devices.

==================================

3. and 4. GPX and KML files. For use with programs that can deal
with those file
types. These files re ready to use, just extract
from the zip file.

Please let me know if you have any problems. I'd

be happy to try to help.

And after you return from your Philmont adventure, PLEASE let me
know if you have better
tracks, see errors, or have any
general suggestions for improvement -- you may be
able
to help out hundreds of other campers!

Enjoy Philmont!
